February-07:  USMI continues its consulting, training services, and external expertise services to Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. during their integrated ISM/ISO 9000/ISO 14000 internal audits.

 

January-07:  Catalog of training courses expanded to address ever-changing safety, environment, and security regulations.  Course calendar posted for first half of 2007.

 

December-06:  USMI completes trial study for distance learning courses in Marine Surveying, Chartering, and Safety Management Systems.

 

November-06:  USMI appointed as a nonexclusive surveyor on behalf of the Maritime Authority of Jamaica for its growing fleet of internationally trading ships.

August-06:  USMI is appointed as primary consultants and surveyors for the establishment of the International Yacht Bureau (www.yachtbureau.org).

 

July-06:  Record number of students at public and private courses continues to assist USMI with its offering of business improvement services to the maritime industry.  Client listing updated to reflect all sectors:  passenger, oil tankers, bulk carriers, general cargo, offshore and energy, megayachts, flag administrations, and port state control.

 

June-06:  Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd. appoints USMI to provide external expertise and auditor monitoring during the integrated ISM/ISO 9000/ISO 14000 internal audit of their subsidiary Celebrity Cruises.

 

May-06:  Next public training course of the popular, "Integrated Maritime Auditor (ISM/ISPS)," scheduled for July 12-14, 2006 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.  More information available here...

 

May-06:  Hyde Shipping Corporation appoints USMI to revise its various technical manuals for ISM, ISPS, NTVRP, SOPEP, Cargo Securing, and additional reference documents into a single, integrated management system.

 

April-06:  Training course, "Qualified Individual for Nontank Vessels," is offered in a record number of private venues.  General cargo ships, yacht managers, and port state control inspectors benefit from this one-day classroom lecture on the US-specific requirement.

 

March-06:  Training course, "Integrated Maritime Auditor," the only course worldwide offering certification for both the ISM and ISPS Codes, expands its popularity in both public and private venues.

 

February-06:  The public seminar "Annual Update on Maritime Regulations" attended by record number of companies and yacht crew.  A second course scheduled due to industry demand.

 

January-06:  Interorient Ship Management selects USMI for customized in-house training course to its ship operations team.

 

December-05:  Superyacht Technologies outsource ISPS functions for its fleet of luxury megayachts to USMI.

 

November-05:  Bahamas Maritime Authority approves USMI's course for Passenger Safety, Crisis Management, & Human Behavior.  This unique course allows for customizable shipboard instruction by existing Safety and Training Officers.

 

September-05:  USMI expands its portfolio of services with the acquisition of the security information company MarsecInfo.com

 

August-05:  Carnival Corporation selects USMI for in-house audit training course of its Management Advisory Services team.

 

July-05:  Meridian Ship Managers outsource ISM and ISPS functions for SeaEscape Cruises to USMI.

 

June-05:  G&G Shipping selects USMI for in-house development of NTVRPs and Oil Spill Response training.

 

May-05:  Hyde Shipping Corporation selects USMI for in-house development of NTVRPs and Oil Spill Response training.

 

May-05:  US Maritime Institute appointed as nautical inspector on behalf of Barbados and Vanuatu.

 

May-05:  US Maritime Institute completes major project for developing integrated audits of ISM, ISPS, and Annual Safety Inspections for the Liberian Administration.

 

Apr-05:  Superyacht Technologies and the US Maritime Institute have teamed together to provide the yachting industry with an all-inclusive package that will streamline compliance with the new requirements of the US Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Act of 2004.

 

Apr-05:  The corporate ownership and management team of USMI is restructured.  Capt. Jake DesVergers appointed as new President.

 

Mar-05:  United States Maritime Institute appointed as a nautical inspector on behalf of Liberia, Malta, the Marshall Islands, and St. Vincent & the Grenadines.  Qualified as an auditor for integrated ISM/ISPS audits on behalf of Liberia.
